Might be a good idea to change your Steam PW after this.

    At least Valve didn't try to cover it up like Sony.

    Weird, I didn't get the message in Steam itself.
    Now it seems only people with CC info in Steam got the message in Steam about it being hacked.

    I looked everywhere on the steampowered page for a password change, finally gave up and had to actually start up steam. How silly. (Work computer... hehe)

    Merely using Steam shouldn't be a problem unless you've got a security breach on your end...?

    I have credit card information stored and I have not had any message or e-mail.

    I have two accounts and received the message for both accounts. One account only had half life premium pack (no credit card info or other games) and the other had that too + game purchases with credit card.

    Odd if some aren't getting the message.

    Credit card info should be safe, they use salted AES256 encryption. Good luck cracking that.

    Gabe also mentioned free copies of DOTA 2 and Portal 2.

    To everyone who had an account before this incident (there goes all their profit potential for DotA2 unless they're doing TF2-like hats for DotA2 in which case nevermind >.>) or to a select group (maybe to people with a certain amount of purchases and/or CC info I assume?).

    It could be everyone that has a forum account, as I never signed up for one.

    You thinking of this pic?
    <img src="http://i42.tinypic.com/i3s5tv.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

    It might be fake.

    Indeed. But that joke had been done already.
