<div class="IPBDescription">Alternative to devour</div>The onos could bite down and drag along a marine for perhaps up to 10 seconds. Being attacked in this way would no longer be a 99% chance of death. Instead, other marines would be able to follow the onos and either make the onos release him (by causing significant damage) or defend him once the dragging is complete. Of course, the onos would head for a kharra stronghold, hopefully filled with other aliens ready to eat the marine.
Damage to the dragged marine would be limited during this time. As would the marine's firing of weapons.
P.S. I'd love to see a limited ragdoll effect apply to the marine as they flail along side the onos as they get carried away.

1) Taking away control from players is frustrating. This is why devour was canned in the first place.
2) All the ONOS has to do is run in, grab marine, drag back to nearby hydra farm, and repeat until bored.
3) Marines can just type kill in console once the ONOS grabs them
4) If the ONOS is shielded from damage while this happens, it's OP and a free kill. If the ONOS isn't shielded, you're making him drop all ability to attack marines for 10 whole seconds while the Marines unload. There's no real way to balance it without it being either bull###### for Marines do deal with or useless to the Kharaa.
Edit: Also, picking off lone Marines is the Fade's job, not the ONOS'

Ditto, but more importantly, why would an Onos want to drag a Marine around, when they can just chomp it twice?
