Gorge Commander?

<div class="IPBDescription">king of the hill?</div>What do you think if there would be a gorge commander?
The player who go into the hive got a new button on his HUD, "set gorge com".
So if he click on the hive he is in, he can click on "set gorge com" and from that point he got a icon over his head (crown) which allows him to go "commander" gorge (diffrent skin? or just a sprite crown?) and from that point he can build EVERYTHING a drifter could build.
If he die, he is still the commander, he also can UNLOCK and LOCK hives, to prevent idiots from spending teamressources.
But you know the commander always, or most time is in the hive with this "feature" he could spend his saved ressources to build more.


Problems:
- Some idiot go commander and set himself the king, but he don't deserve to be a commander, he is just a troll
- Serious commander goes com and someone else goes com and set himself com...

Preventing Problems:
- Eject Commander
Same as in NS1, people can vote and KICK the "commander" out of hive also remove his crown.

Just a little thing in my mind, any ideas?

    I like the idea of a Master-Gorge, which would be green or something, but then the other Gorges feel limited in their possibilities...maybe there should be a class that can't heal instead..

    I think the game could work with the gorge (any gorge) taking over (reclaiming) all of the current alien commander's abilities (and associated costs - i.e. keep the current resource system), and removing the alien commander. Someone mod it in for proof of concept?

    What does it solve? Dont really see the point of this Thread...

    Ns2 Comm works fine, and is also not forced to stay in the hive all the time...

    Maybe read the first post...should help a lot


    1. there a lot of idiots who goes commander (hint for you: if more then 1 hive...) and buy stupid stuff or just a chamber.
    this could prevent it
    2. the alien commander got a lot of res while stay in hive but he could not go into the fight because he need to order drifters, whips and stuff as a commander gorge he can build defence or offensive (same chambers the drifters can build)
    3. everybody knows exactly who is com and where he is...

    i hate trolls...damn i always feel sad seeing them hungry...here some fish

    That was clever, it made me smile.

    However, and I think you know this but couldn't resist the opportunity to be witty (and I won't knock you for it), NS2 is a different game, and so the point is to apply this concept of no-alien-commander in the context of this new game, changing nothing else. DI is still in. There are still 2 resources. etc.
