<div class="IPBDescription">Pistol fix</div>Ok does the pistol alt function make sense to anyone? A buton that makes bullets more powerful? Is the gun filling those hollow points with explosives? Or are we playing star trek and it's a lazer set to kill?

Two solutions

1st heavy and light pistol.... Go to the armory and check out that dessert eagle if your man enough but don't tell me your nine mil shouts 50 cal at the touch of a button

2nd. Double tap plenty of riffles have burst fire modes, if you want to change a guns firing capibilitys at the touch of a button you change the gun not the bullet properties ex double tap fires in 2 round bursts, double damage faster cycling the otherwise possible but gun has to reset between bursts(slight delay).


Half way solution if you go to alternate mode it reloads the gun with "different" bullets you don't just click a button.

    Future bullets are nanite modified? Heck lack of friendly fire could be explained away by bullets detecting friendly tissue and armor, dispersing themselves back into the nano grid to avoid damaging teamates...


    The thing is, adding another pistol to the game takes time/resources for a small team to realize. And what would it actually add, or in this case change, in terms of gameplay. As this is a much more important question... Slow firing heavy damage bullets same ammo count vs burst fire same ammo count. Both are quite different in terms of gameplay, while trying to achieve the same thing.


    <b>Slow firing heavy damage bullets (sci-fy or not):</b>
    Greater damage output per shot (slow fire rate)
    Heavier damage output vs armored targets
    Same amount of ammo, slower reload intervals


    <b>Burst fire</b>
    Greater damage output per burst (fast fire rate)
    More damage output in general?
    Same amount of ammo, faster reload intervals (run out of ammo quicker)

    Again at the very least you should have to relied with the "nanite modified" rounds....

    On a related note can we get a status light for alt fire for the pistol? I can't always remember which mode it's in with out firing off 2 rounds (can't even then in 188) just a little blue light on the side when it's in alt mode...

    The lore wasn't exactly the focus of my post... I was just using a possible source of the implementation as it is, which has no relevance what so ever, neither does realism. Gameplay is the all deciding factor and a more realistic approach (less sci-fy) has some gameplay alterations going along with it.

    The pistol will get a laser sight last I heard, that activates on slow fire mode :)

    New premis, pistol is magnetic accelerator uses decreased firing rate to charge to a higher level therefore faster bullet therefore more damage...

    Still like my idea but I'll just pretend I'm loading a projectile and power source, and not conventional amo... I guess I'll retract my complaint about realism?

    I wouldn't mind the pistol alt-fire being a burst shot. However, I think the pistol alt-fire should just be mouse2 rather than mouse2 switching being the pistols primary and alt-fire modes.

    The thing about the current 2nd fire mode on the pistol atm., is a bug. It is not supposed to shoot that fast.
    Schimmel made a fix though, running on HBZ's server at least.
    But it is a serverside fix, so your animations will look very wierd, and it is impossible to judge if you can fire another shot yet.
    Looks like you're firing alot more shots than you actually are, if you're clicking too fast.
    But it will be fixed for the coming patch, it is because it has not been fixed for the client side yet.
