I still hate so noobish spike attacks. It doesn't look so good at all.. So noobish i think. It isn't exciting, so weird, needing almost no control.. just noobish.

Therefore i have a new idea with lerk spike.

How about to let Lerks be like Bee?

They glide quickly to get close to marines, and put/shoot there 2 spikes into marines at once. (Only one chance, maybe 5 sec cool time to regain another spikes, this would gonna prevent ugly spammed spike shots) And it would be highly contagious and marines will lose their health real quickly before he get treatment using Armory or medpack.

As Lerk gas work as highly contagious gas, i think this idea would also fit to lerks.

Remember there are more features comming, jet packs, heavy, onos, and maybe most relivent to your idea bigger maps. Lerks are pretty much the only ranged attack to remove this tactical ability this early in development is short sighted. The idea of a more powerful short range alt attack isn't new or bad and I'm sure it's being tossed Around...

I would be fine with this actually. Combine the dumb snipe ability with the current spike and turn it into a high damage, low rate of fire, up close, low range attack.

Works like this, A lerk is resting in the rafters in a room waiting for prey. Marine walks in and walks past the lerk. The lerk swoops down, shoots two powerful spikes into his back real quick doing huge damage, and then flys off leaving spores behind him to finish off the marine. I actually really like this idea. I'm not a fan of the current iteration of the lerk. The abilities don't work well together at all, and they just flap around in crazy circles spamming spikes.

It would make the lerk a formidable opponent for a single marine or two once again.
