Rifle-but and parasite

<div class="IPBDescription">Evolution of alternatives</div>
I would like to see greater use come of these forms of attck.

-rifle-butt; I don't think it is appropriate to have the rifle-butt as an attack/hp weapon. It doesn't make a great deal of sense in reference to the concept AND I would imagine it could be a great deal more important in a game over-all if it were altered to cause some stun effect.

-PARASITE; Parasite in NS2 is identical to parasite in NS1. I would LOVE to see the devs come up with some ideas to enhance the functions of parasite. Some that I have had are;
*damage over distance- closer hit for greater damage
*damage over time- a virus upgrade that needs catalyst to remedy

No stuns and no dots please. I kinda like the idea of parasite damage over distance (up to 3 or 4 hp?)

Dots? Dots dots dots dots dots DOTS!!!?
Who the *happy panda* said anything about 'dots'?
    What is wrong with stun?
It (could) solve the issue that people are having with the ease of fade.

What's wrong with stun is that taking control away from players causes frustration and feelings of helplessness. The popular NS1 move "Devour" for the Onos was scrapped in NS2 for this very reason.

i think the knock-back-concussion-effect against skulks is already very useful. but stunning fades or even onos seems out of place... imagine you are attacking 3-4 marines and they just keep hitting you with good timing so you cannot move anymore. even if you add a cooldown, the ability to stun them makes them much less scary imo. but they should be scary, they cost 50 res for a reason.
as for parasite, closer hit for more damage sounds okay. a dot might become quite annoying though.

To similarize a stun to devour is not applicable.
The stun wouldn't effect the attack ability, It would just stop you from moving.
Personally, I think the rifle-butt damage is over the top.
Has neone ever actully rifle-butt'd a fade?
Late game, it (rifle-butt) serves little purpose.

Personally, I can't see this game NOT being fun.

Measles, go find a rifle irl and try hitting stuff with its buttstock, you will break faces with it easy.

Noone will even use rifle endgame anyway so that is out of the question really.

Those are called alternative abilities for a reason anyway, no need to make every little thing extra extra useful.

Rifle butt does cause some disorienting effects but I think it makes quite a lot of sense that getting smacked in the face with a big metal stick would cause HP loss.

Rifle butt is already quite invaluable against skulks, I find a lot of my skulk kills come from it as a well timed rifle butt is effectively like an extra few bullets in your magazine.

the rifle but stuns skulks (which are in mid air). it's a very short time, so that's maybe why you don't recognize it

It is not realistic and TOTALLY exploitable, it has a large radius of attack and is used (overly) offensively.
    The Kharaa are not made from flesh and blood, and being an entity of prime-eval instinct, would most likely move WITH the force of the blow minimizing impact. Suggestion;
    Decrease the damage, significantly
Increase the 'blow back', significantly (and angular/weight effect of attack)*
Create a Bioluminescence effect of the (hit) target momentarily. **
    RESULT.
*The target would be flung OUT OF ATTACKING distance. In the case of a Mrne vs Sklk, it would mean that depending on the place you hit the skulk it would really go 'flying', allowing for time to switch to pistol or knife. Kind of like flipping pancakes =)
In the case of a Fade which has much more mass, it would be knocked 1~3 spaces away, so that if you see your teammate being attacked by a fade (and are out of bullets), you can knock the fade from the side causing a near miss on the fades behalf.
If a gorg is caught by a team, they may delight in traumatizing the gorg by playing volley-gorg, etc.
**Bioluminescence would be activated in the belly of the beast (due to the inter-cell communication occurring when re-establishing the entity 'matter') making it more visible to you and your teamates, which could prove invaluable in dark regions.

Furthermore, on the topic of PARASITE, each successive hit of a parasite on a living organism should have an increased damage effect. For realistic reasons, I assure you!

Yes i agree. the problem is it does 35 damage. thats just under half the hp of a vanilla skulk..

Rifle butt is such a powerful attack. It not only stuns and knocks back Skulks, it also has longer range than Skulk bite, and deals similar effective damage to Bite (3 hits to kill).

IMO Rifle melee damage should be reduced slightly (to 4-5 hits kill on a Skulk).
