Delete vertices?

Hey, I've just been mucking around in the map editor and I'm having trouble deleting vertices. Sometimes when I delete a face the vertices remain and then when I try and delete them it will delete the other face that it is attached to as well. Is there any way to simply delete the extra vertices without affecting the other faces?

Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about:

I'm also having problems creating a face in this gap. When I use the box tool nothing happens. Any help with these problems is appreciated :)

You delete those vertices, then recreate the lines and faces that were subsequently destroyed.

Okay, thanks. I thought there might have been a quicker way.

Not to my knowledge. Have a good one.

Man, I am having so much trouble creating faces to map out a simple layout. I have no idea if it's a problem with the editor or if I'm doing something wrong.

If you create new faces or copy/paste existing ones and manipulate them then you will eradicate your current problem.

When you split faces using the line tool and use the weld tool this is when you run in to problems such as vertices moving everything together and being fixed on to lines in which you will have to re-create things several times over.

Thanks konata. I seem to be having more luck copying and pasting. Many times when I used the box tool to create a new face it would join it to an edge or vertex which would make it difficult to manipulate and cause other weird problems.
