Let Drifters drop cysts

I find it always awkward that cysts dropped by commander appear too instantly.
It's also funny to metion 'reality' at NS2, but it's so unrealistic.
So, just like MACs drop mines and Gorges drop mini cysts, why don't we let Drifters(or something better-looking AI creature) drop cysts? It can make game more tactical and commanders be more importan than now, instead of just stay and drop/abuse some cysts really easily.

How? What tactic options are unlocked by this, and how does it make the alien commander more important - he already drops the cysts?

If only Drifters(or something AI else) can drop cysts, aliens need to guard him and area.
