How the commander knows who ask him something?

People said me that press the spacebar (jump), but dont work.
I have the jump key binded in mouse2, but i use mouse 2 and dont work, <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    It's Space, always, irregardless of your Jump Key. Just like menu selections and building buildings is ALWAYS Mouse1, irregardless of your +attack key.

    hmm u sure ? I have «jump» on CTRL and it works.

    I heard not to bind such keys on your mouse cuz it *** up when comm.

    afaik u cannot bind anything to mouse1&2 as long as you are in command mode, which means that ur +jump on mouse 2 is disabled as long as youre commanding.. i would suggest that you just rebind +jump onto a secondary key

    I play for two days now, last night even as commander (first server whose ppl didnt vote eject me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->). Some things I still do not understand, and cannot find in the manual:

    -How to remove structures?
    -How to select soldiers not on screen, is there a "select all" hotkey? Or a troop selection screen hidden? Like, I want soldier X to be activated, but cannot find that guy on the map.
    -what is needed to build a translocator gate someplace else on the map?

    Help really appreciated! Great mod, and so far seen (with few occasional exceptions, a great bunch of ppl playing it!

    cpl hicks:

    1) the only way to remove structures is to recycle them. click the structure and hit the recycle buttonto the bottom right. not all structures can be reset.

    2)u cant do a select all. u cannot group them in groups. the best way is to select the whole buntch when they crowd the armory taking ammo. They will also appear as GREEN blips on your map. Blue are your structures. Red are the aliens. White are resource nodes.

    3)a phase gate u mean? U will need an observatory first. Before the big toys can be deployed, u will need to give out some heafty cash for the arms lab and the prototype lab. Just u know.

    apparenly, u should read the online manual it has tonnes of info that u shd know before hand. It is written in the marines POV and shd help more with marines than aliens.

    I'm remembering that a pt said you could group marines, I can't remember exactly how. Though this was before release, it might have been removed because of a bug...

    Yeah I was commander recently in a game for my first time. I have jump mapped to mouse2 as well, and so it was a pain in the **obscenity** to find people when they asked for stuff. And of course no one believes me when I say that hitting jump doesn't work for me in commander mode. I guess it makes sense that the 2nd mouse button's mapping gets overwritten, but it was still a pain. I don't know if this was explained anywhere in the documentation, but it definitely took me by surprise and managed to frustrate me for awhile <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Now I've added another binding for jump to avoid this problem in the future.

    you also can't bind anything to mouse3. I spent the first day thinking you couldn't use voice comms while in the chair...

    If they are using the voice mic, you cannot *jump* to them. You can only jump to events: radio commands (I need ammo), turrets firing, base under attack, etc.

    How do you upgrade an turret factory to an advanced turret factory? I can't find anything in the manual on this, plz help!

    *is it something like: click on the turret factory in overview and select an upgrade option in the menu?

    or click on the weapons and armor research station and do it from here? (if this is the case I must be missing something because there are no icons showing a turret factory upgrade)

    then u havn't looked hard enough. u can find all this info in the tech tree section. (frontiers men->commander->structures>tech tree). Icons in the tech tree are clickable so do that to find out more.

    it still does not show how to do it. I see information about what the upgrade does, but it has nothing about the keys or clicks I need to do for the upgrade. I guess I will just have to figure it out in game.. thanks for you help

    John, I found out last night <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    You have to click the turret fac or anything else ON THE MAP, then on the right you see the appropriate menu replacing the normal one.
    Here you can upgrade. Float your mouse above the icons, you see prompt infos on what the buttons do.
    I had to figure most of the game out for myself, playing, I find the manual, though good ideas, not very useful to get into anything more than absolute basics...

    to upgrade tfac click on the one you want to upgrade and hit the upgrade button in the menu. Siege can only be built near an advanced tfac, so if you want siege at several locations, you'll have to upgrade every tfac where you want siege nearby.

    Besides what tempest said about laying sieges,

    The same rule of thumb comes in for armories. Upgrading to advance armories will only let u drop hmgs and GL around that Ad Arm radius. Take note that this upgrade is not universal for all armories. Same goes for HA and jet packs. U will need the relevant buildings to drop them around their radius (noted by the green circular area)
