I'm on a pretty low spec laptop and geting 20+fps (fair enough its in lowest detai.. but highest res)

(low spec = 2ghz p7350, 3gb ram (4 installed but only using 32bit OS :/ ), 512mb 9600m geforce)

force vsync off
maximum pre-rendered frames 0
texture filtering qual - high performance
all aliasing + filtering off
triple buffering on

made a pretty decent difference for me .. curious if it helps others

I don't understand why you have triple buffering on since you forced vsync off..

ah er no reason.. was just copying what I had set when I had good performance.. yeah triple buffering wont matter with vsync off .. sorry wombat

biggest difference I'd noticed was with the max pre rendered frames 0

every thing but the pre renderded frames is the fix to help with any nvidia card. the prerendered frames have to be diffrent depending on your rig and what works best for you.

atleast thats what we found out so far.

The biggest problem you will likely have once you have dropped the gfx settings is the CPU as NS2 is massively dependent on pure CPU horsepower in its current form so even with all the gfx tweaks in the world, pretty quickly you will run into a wall where the bottleneck is your cpu speed.
