<div class="IPBDescription">no big deal</div>I love how NS2 is unfolding and becoming an awesome sequel. Some kinks to work out but its a labor of love between the developers and community.

Random thought though. I can't wait for an unofficial and potentially official (if uwe wants to bother) mod of ns1 with ns2 graphics.
I believe there's an ns2 model mod in ns1 somewhere out there.

Discuss if you want, just a random thought.

UWE, WOO!

I'm sure the community would be able to put it together, although it would reuse ns1 assets most likely.

Wait, or do you mean a ns1 modification which uses ns2 assets..

Is it true the source code for NS1 has been lost?

Wouldn't you just have to download the mod and open the files? - Even the compiled thing could be de-compiled again.

de-compiling is afaik considered illegal in most countries if you don't have the rights to the original sourcecode or any included code. And since a lot of the sourcecode in any hl mod is at least partly owned by valve, you wouldn't get the permission required.

    decompiling is also tricky

it's not like ns1 is just in a bunch of obfuscated java bytecode or something like that

Good luck finding someone with that kind of time on his hands.
