Idea #1
Gorge can place mini structures which act like the original structures, just has less health and does it's job less efficiently.
So gorges could place down mini crags to give a little health boost to aliens. The radius could be small. Use your imagination.
Idea #2
Instead of 3 drifters spawning either at the start of a round or when a hive is created. Let the commander build the drifters instead, so the hive has +75 energy to compensate for the drifters. You could also increase the rate at which drifters are created due to this.
This frustrates me as an alien commander as i receive three drifters i don't really need yet. I would love the ability to choose how i should spend my energy.

idea 2: So you don't need those two initial restowers and perhaps an evolution chamber then? Meh, if compensated by initial energy it could add a feeling to the alien commander like he has to do stuff...
