<div class="IPBDescription">please dont open the buy window</div>I find this rather annoying at game start.
You build an IP and an armory, all the while watching the door for skulks... as soon as the armory is built you are stuck in the buy screen for 3 seconds while you scramble to shoot the skulk that just walked through the door.
Mileage may vary.

It should probably be harder to trigger the buy menu since standing up close and looking at the armory already obscures your vision, and it's healing you anyway, with or without the menu.
Picking up a weapon dropped next to an unbuilt structure, door, or marine by accident can befrustrating.
I say let us use the 4 screens that are on the amory to buy weapons and not enter the overlay-menu at all.
More of a Dead Space Interface approach.
This makes sense.

You mean like doom 3's interfaces? I remember when I first saw them back in 2004 my first thought was "omg, these would work perfect for NS"...
While its got its advantages (being aware of your surroundings in case aliens come), the main disadvantage would probably be that it could get too crowded during critical moments.
So, part of me wants it, part of me does not... lol

Well the armory does have 4 sides, a marine runs up to a side then that arms opens up and the menu hologram appears in front with the choices. Keeping as 'in the game' as possible.
but no. i havent seen a single game use that, to include dead space, with that level of ease to use. would take a player less time to select what they wanted than the current menu so being limited to 4 slots isnt so bad.
