Map wont load

<div class="IPBDescription">Console errors inside</div>Can't seem to find a log file. I managed to get a screenshot using fraps, using print screen returns all black results. These are the console errors when I try to load my map.

    you need to name your map ns2_emporium not emporium :)

    ha! I certainly hope that is the issue. Very easy to fix!

    Edit: Problem persists even after renaming map to ns2_emporium

    You need the ns2 game rules entity in your map.

    Thanks now it loads.

    However . . . 13 fps. And it's only a hallway. The official maps run relatively fine.

    Is anyone aware of some mapping mistakes that can cause such a performance hit? I think maybe I have overlapping light sources, but not sure what else.

    also I have to turn r_fog to false because it is way too intense.

    How many spotlights have you used? and did you enable shadows on your area lights?

    I think 4 spotlights, and I probably did enable shadows for the lights.

    If I can't fix it knowing this I'll upload the map file.

    Is there any lua spam in the console?

    type this at run in your start menu and look for the log.txt after you loaded the map. Easier to post then a screenshot of the console :)

    If you turn the lights (point lights) into shadow casting, you're essentially turning them into 14 spotlights each. The extra shadow calculations can cause a lot of lag for your gpu. Stick to spotlights, and turn shadows off for props that don't need shadows.
