Joining servers from the steam browser?

Every time I try to join a server from the steam server browser in windows, it just starts up ns2, then I have to manually go to join, find the server again, and hope no one got the spot in the meantime. I went through the bug report thing and searched for previous mentions of this but didn't spot anything (I could very easily be bad at looking).
