Any planned changes to drifter model?

it doesn't fit to structures..

In my opinion, nevertheless drifters look better after some improvements with animations, it still looks ugly.

Is drifter's model still placeholder? Then I would be really happy.

I think it would be good and fit to the game if drifter has some orange-rounded ball. Most of their structures, for example Hive and Harvester has really awesome orange ball. It would look really fantastic when those drifters with orange ball turning into structures really smoothly and organically.

When transparency makes it in, a lot of the structures will look aquatic-like.

See this page for some of the models in all their textured glory.

And yes, the Drifter should look like the Incubator (or actually, the reverse is also true)

Most of their models (except recent additions, like Cysts, Shells, Veils, Spurs...), I think, are made with finalization in mind. But, I wouldn't exclude the possibility of revisiting them (like the Assault Rifle model).

Yeah it's just enough that they have such a great idea about a drifter's model. Didn't expect that kind of model, that looks koool

The drifter model is final, but as PsiWarp mentioned, there is still no transparency in the game, so you aren't seeing how the drifters are meant to look. Here's a render of the model with the transparency, and you can see that it has a glowing orange body and matches the look of the other structures.

oh thank you for answer, however, i think the pic that PsiWarp has given looks far better. What made you to decide let drifters be just like now?

^- Btw, that picture from artisaverb is not the Drifter's model, it's the cocoon (as yet not implemented) for Drifter transforming into a building.

Transparency is gonna make the game look on a whole new level once it's implemented. Exciting stuff.

ach so... didn't notice that, but it looks just good. It would look also really fantastic if cocoon itself moves like drifters.

    *jaw drops*
... so when does that feature get implemented?? i can imagine what an infested room is going to look like much more with that sort of render.. what other material differences are we going to see cory? i know of infestation being effected both in size and depth, but what of other impacts of material systems? amazing work, though, once again.
