Fatal Error (since 195)

Every time I run the ns executable it throws me a fatal error. I run Windows 7 Pro x64. Problems started after patch 195, hardware configuration unchanged.
I have tried the following:
Different video card driver versions (I have Ati HD5850 and multiple monitors - no Crossfire)
Installed PhysX and DX as suggested in a troubleshoot FAQ
Remove caches files and reset config
Running in windowed mode
Verify files
Reinstall game
None of these have worked. Log.txt only gives so much information what went haywire:
Build 197
Starting Natural Selection 2
RenderDevice: ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series (8.17.10.1103)
Any help on how to proceed is appreciated.
Cheers.

Did you run ns2.exe as admin?
Have you the newest graphic card drivers?
Have you the newest direct x? ->Steam\steamapps\common\natural selection 2\redist\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe
Have you Microsoft Visual C++ 20xx Redistributable?
Its very weird what you got.
oh and as you wrote "reinstalled game" has you delete the old folder/steam remove game?

xp SP3 compatibility mode: no help
Yes I ran it as admin to no avail
Have tried 3 different versions, including the latest (note: it was working before with the same driver)
Yes, I have the newest DX
I have multiple C++ redists. Where can I check if all the necessary are present?
To be honest i have no idea which one is for which software.
But you can see what you got in your software:
(no idea whats it in english so i translate by my own) system controll-> big icons-> Programs and functions
It runs fine on my pc and i got the HD 6850.
The last catch at a straw is, did you got flash installed?
Maybe its wrong but the game use flash, isn't it?
Did other games work?

I've had flash installed since forever. I'm about clueless what to try next.
Are you sure you install NS2 from totaly new? or just check files?
because i got this* error last days, which was a totaly surprise for me, after deleting the ns2.exe and redownload(check cache or what it was) it works.

Yes, all the editors work - NS2 doesn't. Also, yes for the clean install from Steam, as stated in the opening post.
That's NULL exception.
How does one go about debugging this?
Another question do you run any -game commands on the NS2 exe?
Another thing you may try is delete the clientregistry.blobb and then the whole NS2 folder, and reinstall NS2 again.

since the issue is relating to you having trouble accessing certain files, like the symbol debugging files, i'd take a look at user permissions, hard drive health, viruses etc.
are you running on a SSD?

User permissions of what? Shouldn't admin account have every access (exept for kernel space etc. of course). I have SSD yes, it checks out fine. No viruses or malware - checked with different scanners.

Windows is up to date.
No -game commands.
I did try deleting .blokk and reinstalling this, didn't help though.
Thanks anyways.
It really strange that it stopped working suddenly.
Still good luck!
Edit: I was installing a new sound card today and forgot to install the drivers. I try to start NS2 but it shuts down with error. After installing the sounddrivers and activating my card NS2 just started as normal. But you wrote no new hardware. So did you install newer drivers after 195?

That's one of the first things I checked. No drivers updated manually nor automatically via Windudes update. Except after the problems started I fiddled with ATI drivers :[
If you can reproduce the crash please do include the steps in the report too as knowing how the crash occurs can make finding the problem code a bit easier.
