Are you Chinese?

And / or can you read Madarin?
EDIT: No points for snarky replies about the typo in the subtitle.

This is my monitor (well, not *mine*, but it is the monitor I have). It's green, it's streaky with stupid lines, it's broken.

It's also outside the warranty. Thanks to the magic of the internet, I've learned that this board, which is used in a couple different monitors, goes bad and causes this, caused by the Altera chip on it overheating and eventually losing solder contact. It's basically the same thing as the Red Ring of Death, only this time it's Green Lines of Despair.

Now, there's two ways to fix this. The first is to apply a heatgun or some other source of warmth and try to warm the solder enough to get it to make contact again. After this, of course, you need some sort of cooling solution to ensure it doesn't happen again, but that's for future me to worry about.

The second solution is to replace the board. Here is where you come in, potential helper. See, this board costs $200+ everywhere outside of China. However, I've learned that *in* China, this board costs almost nothing. Like, $35, including shipping.

http://www.xincai168.com/product_show.asp?id=475

There it is. I need to buy that, probably because my attempt to heat this chip is either doomed to fail or is a stop-gap measure at best. Unfortunately Google Translate is useless because one, it's Chinese (and thus hilarity ensues), and two it doesn't translate things that aren't raw text.

So therein lies my dilemma. How can I get this board?

Incidentally, if you have a Gateway XHD3000 or Samsung 305T+ lying around that's perfectly functional and wouldn't mind ripping the board out for me that would work too.

The part number on the board is LTM300M1C8LV3.2. V3.2. Apparently a few monitors have V3.1s... no bueno.

    Son, I am confuse.

Sadly, I can't help you at all, but still I demand that my curiosity be sated: You have obviously already contemplated and rejected the idea of simply buying a new monitor. Is it because you can't afford it, or because this is some kind of ridiculous über-specialty monitor, or just the sheer stubborn pride of refusing to let ###### get away with breaking on your watch?

It's actually a combination of all three: It's a 30" 2560x1600 monitor, and the average pricetag of those is $1,100, and they have a history of dying two minutes after the warranty expires.

Incidentally, the Samsung 305T got great reviews for the first year or two, and then they stopped making it just in time for the warranties to expire and these chips to fail miserably. So if I can get a new MCP or whatever this ###### thing is and eek another two miserable years out of it, it would be worth it. Hell if they're as cheap as I hear, I'd buy two just because.

I'd cook the IC back onto the PCB, then install a little 30mm fan to keep it slightly cooler, or even just a passive heat sink.
