NS1 to NS2

Hello,

I have just downloaded and installed NS2 and have a few questions.

1. Does console take user input and actually do anything? Cant seem to get an affirmative response from typing in commands like 'bind w' or 'help', hints?
2. Are there plans for letting us bind the mouse like civil human beings(i.e. jump, I have RSI in my left thumb). Tweaking the settings I am having great difficulty setting mouse3 to jump, I have also tried mwheelup\down.

3. There are severe optimization issues with the game engine itself, is there a built in feature that can submit perf data + system stats to the NS2 dev team for review?

I have downloaded noflashmod and it has improved the interface by about 50%, but functionality still seems to not work.

I appreciate that this game is beta, and it is a very good effort thus far, can see myself getting addicted.

There is a new menu in the works that will be implemented in one of the next builds, the engine performance is indeed still an issue and its the main focus for the dev team. It has improved quite a lot already compared to a few builds back, it is a world of difference if you could go back about ~10-20 builds. You can bind your keys using the current menu. The console does work, but things like binding keys have not yet been implemented afaik.

    These are the console commands

There is also an options.xml you could use located at "%appdata%\Natural Selection 2"

[edit]What are your computer stats btw?

He speaks the truth. The UWE has done wonders since I started playing back in the late B170's. OP, you picked a great time to buy in, unless you wanted that shiny black armor. Wish I had remembered to buy in when that was being offered.

Actually, the current performance is down from a build or two ago but definitely far above where it once was 6 months previously.
