Awesome. I saw a comm reenact this earlier tonight, although there were only a handful of marines left defending. :P Now I know where it's from, at least!

Wall of Lame (proper noun) [origin - NS1.0x]: As structures were stackable in NS1, gorges used to build walls the width of a hallway and 2-3 high (meaning your wall was easily 12 feet high). When that wall is built of offensive towers all spitting spikes at the elevator door they're right in front of, the Wall of Lame was an expensive, but effective area denial tool for the Kharaa until the implementation of the siege cannon (believed to have been developed during the 2394th battle for Bast, when a wise marine said "Comm, can you build me something that'll just shoot through this ###### rotary door and kill that Wall of Lame on the far side?").
Or: Imagine opening a door and having 12 whips stacked floor-to-ceiling on the far side. That'll hurt.

I'm pretty sure on some maps you could go 6 or more high. Was hilarious when a marine walked around the corner.
I've got a POS graphics card (nVidia 250GTS) but an i7 and 16 gigs of RAM, and I usually sit around 40FPS. Highspeed processors and tons of ram are cheap, compared to graphics cards. If NS2 is your priority, go for the core components first :)

It's alright, sits me on about 40-50 fps.
