I'm not enough hardcore D2 player to say he's right on every single point but it seems better in most ways without feeling casualized.

Wow, that's actually really well written. I mean, it basically just reaffirms my beliefs so I'm fairly biased, but I thought that he put out all the points in a very good way.

If we want to get technical, sure.
On another note, which classes will you be playing first? I think I'll start with the barbarian.
Monk, I really like the skills the class is given and have already made several "builds" with that build maker thingy. Also, fighting unarmed (the weapons are only for dps it seems) with your bare hands and feet on the same level as others with weapons has always been appealing to me. Anyone else who read the anecdotes on all the skills just to get a feel for your character?
Oh, and the female version has a lovely voice and appearance, you know, one that doesn't make noises that people think is porn-related. Not that the appearance will matter when the pauldrons start piling on but still.

Wizard for me. Of the classes I played in beta it just felt the most fun. Barbarian is a close second, however I want to play that as a character locked with some friends.

It's like the monk comes from bizarro world where you carry your weapons in your hands when you're not fighting, but then sheathe them once you attack. I mean, it's understandable that due to the heavily normalized design where all classes base their dps on their weapons, you can't have the monks not equip weapons. But if they're never going to use them, why even show them on the character model?

Exactly. And it's even weirder with a Witchdoctor carrying a cocked bow around and then it instantly disappearing whenever they enter their attack animation. I understand why it's done, but it looks pretty ######.
I'm sure something could've been done about it. They just couldn't be bothered.
Edit: Come to think of it, there are five classes in the game, only TWO of which actually use their weapons for attacking. For the other three they're just stat-sticks. They REALLY could have handled that more gracefully.
Therefore just granting stat/hero bonuses -- without wielding the weapon itself.

So very true. First an early morning job interview, then golf and finally onto an all-night D3 session.
Hope you guys enjoy it. If any of you are German I HIGHLY recommend playing it in German, as I know the guy that did the audios and he let me listen to some of them... they're a lot better than the English ones... except for the blacksmith. Seriously that voice is the bomb.

I could never listen to my native language in any game that has it dubbed (swedish), it's just so gosh darn silly. Regardless of actor quality.
The fact that this exist would just make me cringe even further if I heard anything similar in D3: <center><object width="450" height="356"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lWUGqy61iqE"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lWUGqy61iqE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="450" height="356"></embed></object></center>

Awesome, the place I pre-ordered my US key from has given me an EU one instead. Never has a better mistake been made, I can now play in 20 minutes instead of 10 hours :D!
And then when US comes out I can switch back to somewhere with decent ping :>.

Either they give you a rise or you get the day off. Or you're called in for a disciplinary. It's a win-win-lose situation, but I like my odds.

Oooooh.
That Deckard voice over is <i>terrible.</i>
I'm curious, in the German version do they have regional accents for the appropriate characters?
