Shadow step should be replaced as DASH

Fade was always one of the biggest problem on NS2, but with shadow step, imbalance has arisen.
I think there would also be somebody disagreeing about this who gets killed by marines as fade:), but i think that's just true, fade is overpowered, always, and regardless of healths, they are still so overpowered against marine's weapon. Marine weapon need cooltime, and they can steal those cool time, and that means they harass everything with proper engagements.
So, gonna go into what i want to say: i like new blink that costs lots of energy, but another overpowered thing called SHADOW STEP appeared, which doesn't cost any of energy, and makes fades to gain another energy flows again.
Therefore, why not making that Shadow-Step visible and rename it as "Dash"?
With this, fades should be able to be with just 1 hive, but without any blinks with only 1 hive.
To summarize,
1. Aliens can evolve to Fade even with just 1 hive, but they won't be able to use BLINK
2. BLINK should be a bit more efficient than now.
3. Shadow step, which would be visible with those conditions upon, should be replaced as 'Dash'. Which is visible and no more invunerable.
(4. To get 2nd hive should be harder therefore :p)

I mean, when they have only 1 hive. With two hives, it works just normal like now

I've actually had some success sneaking up on marines just doing that. You don't really make any noticeable sounds while walking as a fade.
i actually like the idea of him earning blink with the 2nd hive - would solve some issues.
I could also see Onos getting Stomp at first, Smash at 2nd, and Gore at 3rd.
Alternatively, Smash -> Stomp -> Gore.

So you're saying that onos should only be able to attack marines with 3 hives?
They need to be able to attack marines right away.

Isn't that broken, though? Who wants an Onos charging around the map murdering everyone before Kharaa even get a 2nd hive? If you want to have him in that early, you'll need to either take down his health, take out his attack, or at least take the knockdown out of his attack; he's just too much of a tankenstein bulldozer as-is.
Well, maybe once Heavies get introduced it could be balanced.

no marine is gonna hit a fade while shadowstepping since you never bother shooting blink, and this looks exactly like blink!
this means fade has an almost uninterrupted system of transporting around: making it SH*T IMBA!

I think Shadow Step's blink-like particle effect could be changed to an after-shadow of the Fade itself, like the Protoss High Templar when moving.
And that my friends, is exactly the point, and the main problem. You whine about balance and dont know basic things.

I've done that to someone, and he got scared lol. I snuck behind a marine while he was picking up a weapon of someone's dead body, he turned around I was there ready to use a stab. It was funny lol, but for him he said he screamed.

The Fade is fine how he is, people did you forget marines will get heavy armor and miniguns?
Sure its right now not well balanced but thats because not every stuff is in.
Maybe you forget that the onos was new, the fade was new, before that, it was only skulk, lerk and gorge...
So just have patience and wait for everything is in, its in my mind a bit pointless to make the fade weaker, just to make him stronger because of heavy armor dual wielded miniguns.
I mean i agree that fades are very hard to kill but only if marines don't play in team, which means not everybody use shotgun, not everybody use flamethrower or GL.
No, the goal is like 1-2 marines take flamethrower to drain fades energy and the other shoot the sh*t out of the fades with shotguns.
Or lets take a onos, for now its impossible as marines to fight against more then 3 onos(es), why? because heavy armor is not in!
I blast them the flames in the face and my teammates shoot the sh*t out of them with shotguns, very easy.
The problem is only, if marines don't have shotguns and flamethrowers.
but dashing poses a danger. I agree it's usefull and rather... intuitive implemented by double tapping, but more often than not I dashed off a cliff or into another danger in... UT2k3 iirc.
delay too high -> you sommersault everytime youre doing quick sidesteps.
delay too low -> buckshot to the face. eew.
We don't need a secondary movement skill as fade.
