We have been toying with the idea of a very <b>small</b>, purely cosmetic DLC that PAX booth visitors could redeem. The idea is that visitors to the booth would receive a little card with a code - If they then pre-ordered NS2, they could redeem the code for the small cosmetic DLC. Nothing even remotely on the scale of Black Armour/Armor (I'm starting to learn US spelling...), perhaps just a small scoreboard icon.
It's an option for the PAX arsenal we are trying to prepare to fight the mega-budget uber-booths, gorilla warfare style.

Hm I would just fly to the US to get one of those codes ar PAX, but I have to work and Europe is quiet a long/expensive flight, duh!
Everybody should get a chance to get this dlc, no matter how small it might be.
Look how Riot Games does it, they hand out a special skin for free for ppl that visit them on events like pax... and ppl that couldnt visit the event can at least get it in the store. (you can decide to make it only available for the even days or 1-2weeks or longer, but everybody that wants one should be able to get one if for free or for a few $ is you decision)

I would hope they would be told its still in a beta and that would mean something. They gotta find more ways to get this games name out. I think NS2HD should be hitting up 500+ lan parties. There one in Quebec, Canada soon call LAN ETS. It's gonna have like 700+ people.
Speaking as someone going to PAX I really hope you don't do any exclusive DLC. As a completionist I know that it would drive me absolutely up the wall to learn that there was something like that in the game that I could never ever unlock because it's exclusive to an event that it was impossible for me to go to(which has happened in other games before, like LoL).

Perhaps it's the legendary spec ops gorge. The exclusive beginning to a gorge accessory based ns2 economy.
I like exclusive DLC. People who show up in support of them should get a small token. I don't think my pre-order entitles me to every DLC. In the same way i don't want UWE to sell black armor to anyone who wants it. If everyone has all the DLC then none of the DLC will be special. The only reason i want black armor is because not everyone has it.
lol I love people who give hate to others for having a DLC that only gives the person who has it a bigger e-peen. I wish I had Black Armour but I don't BUT... I have a blue Constellation Icon beside my name and you don'! HATE ME!!!!!
The difference being that black armour and the Constellation icon could be purchased by anyone at their own convenience during the availability period by ordering online, whereas PAX-exclusive DLC favours players from a certain geographic region.

I am sorry, but I dont see how people living close to the event are in any way more dedicated. Google told me that PAX East is in Boston, hope thats right. Lets take the simple example of A person living in Boston and B person living in London. Person A pays $35 for the friday pass, while person B pays a whatever gazillion dollars to fly there, live in a hotel, eat etc. Thus the support shown can be reeeeeally low, relatively to others.
Simple solution: Give it away for free on PAX and sell it for little money to the rest. Everyone that feels the need to have it can have it and the devs make some money, which they deserve.

If it ended up being like a constellation icon sort of thing for the scoreboard, you could handle it as a ns2 event icon sort of promotion. Where if you go to any ns2 related event or official ns2 lan party you could get the sort of thing. Pax east, pax prime, some kind of expo. Same promotion different area.
