Game Mode: Extermination

So something that has bothered me a little bit is the circumstances under which an NS game begins. Its like the aliens have killed everyone on the space station/colony/whatever and the marines have been called in, yet the aliens have only put up a single hive. Perfectly acceptable from a gameplay perspective, a bit weird from a "lore" perspective. So I was thinking of a game mode that would change the scenario a bit called extermination.

So the story is that the marines have been called in to check out some establishment that hasn't responded for a couple of days, and they arrive to discover the place is completely infested. The aliens start with 3 hives, an RT by each, and every upgrade available, as well as 50 res each. The marines start with access to every upgrade, but no structures save the comm and IP, and also the 50 res each.

It basically boils down to a combat-esque style of play that still has the strategy, but gives access to every piece of equipment you could want right from the get go. This obviously wouldn't work now with the game ending state of 3 hive aliens, but in the future I think things may be more balanced towards max tech levels.

    i like this concept, but i think it should not be implemented until exo & shift made it into the game.

    in terms of post 1.0 (or mod), it would be awesome if the marines had a nuke to escort to a certain destination...

    Ye, I was thinking more along the lines of an independent mod rather than an official game mode. Don't want another combat situation where some players want to play one game mode and some want to play another.
