<div class="IPBDescription">degradative metabolism involving organisms own cells</div>Problem: Currently, there is no way for aliens to conserve resources through an "alien recycle." Since cysts cost pres now (and power nodes are still free) it makes more sense then ever for aliens to have a "alien recycle" henceforth known as "catabolize" in this post.
Solution: Allow alien commander to catabolize cysts and drifter originated structures.
Implementation:
1) A-comm can catabolize any drifter originated structures (for tres) and cysts(for pres).
2) A-comm cannot catabolize gorge related structures.
3) A-comm can catabolize eggs for energy to fuel catalysts
I brought this up although it was covered <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=117160&hl=" target="_blank">here</a> but this posting didnt follow standard practice and I was unsure if dev teams read through it.

Absolutely agreed, i understand that it's difficult to balance a game where the two teams work completely differently, but it really was more fun without two comms i think. I would rather see the gorge gain the ability to use Team-res (Possibly enabled via the commander menu) and function as a mini-comm in its own right.
I would rather see a system where alien structures are fire and forget, expendable. Whereas marine structures are calculated and sorely missed when lost.
maybe some form of partial refund when alien structures are lost, to encourage reckless expansion.
