ok i've updated the scripts once again... you can download them <a href='http://www.geocities.com/capncow/NS.html' target='_blank'>here</a>! Happy Gaming guys
how do u make the "F1" and "F2" bindable? cuz there's a problem with them...<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> Simple solution, actually. Just to go Half-Life\valve\cl_dlls and rename or delete the file "GameUI.dll" to something else (for example, GameUI.bak). That'll fix the f1/f2 problems, with no apparent side effects at all.
That only happens for cs players coz of the messenger looks like we av anooother one... btw u know if ur gorg? why dont u make a script for building stuff like that aswell?
hmmm, a gorge script, well i think i could do that, well i know i could, but what set of keys should i make the buildings bindable to? maybe 6, 7, 8, 9, 0, - across the top of the keyboard? not sure lemme think about it
I actually have a few gorge binds, and they ARE useful. If I have enough resources and I'm trying to put up a few offense towers at once, I can do it really fast by just hitting kp_home. Mine are set up to be keypad 7 for OC, 8 for resource, 9 for hive, + for Defense, Enter for movement, and either period or 0 for sensory, I forgot which.
hmm, ok i'll set off later today and find some keys for a gorging setup. Yay now i have something worth while to do <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Try making it another config so that u can stuff in another sound if u get me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> im still awaiting that thingy with all ur binds in so we can customize on our own u know ur binds which are so fantastic that go adrenaline bla bla in the console even tho i can do it myself i wud rather just copy and paste coz im a lazy fatass

You've put some interesting features in there. I'm a big fan of the "speak" command <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->, and using numpad is an underappreciated method of making communications scripts. Of course, I have a few lil' suggestions <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
- in ccoms.cfg, you have a typo: <i>bind "b" "hotke<u>t</u>86" //basic build menu</i>. Same thing later on: <i>bind kp_+ "hotke<u>t</u>38" //Heavy Armour</i>.
- Aside from little functionality issues like that, it's a good script.
The biggest hurdles after simple scripts like this one involve distribution... traditionally, scripts had a dead-easy interface that allowed users to bind commands (eg: half-life "controls" menu, or an external *.exe that did the same thing). We're dealing with at least 2 complete remaps of the keyboard, though, so it's harder to accomplish this in NS.
I am trying to write a program right now to remap keys, but seeing as I don't know how to program, I am having troubles <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> I am slowly working through VB tutorials like a total idiot right now.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> I rmember when I wrote my final quake 1 config it was a behemoth set of at least 6 files, with ingame menu-driven interface and an initialization procedure <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> I quit playing quake about a week after I wrote it <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> </brag>
By any means, the setup part of it basically wrote different custom config files for keybinds for different classes for TF, and executed them as needed. If something wat to be changed, a new file was written. Not sure if it is doable in hl.
I LIEK MAH SCRITP CUOSE TIS JUOST ELEET! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> well, no one likes it except me.. O_o IM SPECIAL!
The Hornets script is proly better... everybody should bind their owns scripts, it needs to be individualy set...
yes i agree. everyone has there own liking... but i thought i'd share mine, and it gives a basic setup for most things so if you want to redo it to your key prefances it wouldn't be so hard.
ok guys... i've updated my scripts again... not much done, just added a groge script in. i thought about making it a separate class system... but then i got lazy and canceled that idea, so its just part of the normal alien stuff.
umm is there anyway to make a bind with multiple commands that includes a hotkey#? cuz i saw theres problems doing that <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
ok, hotkeys are evil. They only like themselves, and dont like to be mixed... on the other hand impulses are friendly and dont mind being mixed with other commands. So you can only have a single hotkey binded to a key, i.e. no advanced alias' with hotkeys, but with impluses are fine

Just an idea... If u really wanted (and have the time n patience) u could create a frontend for this script for windows. Like a seperate .exe. I've seen a couple of these for cs and they work quite well. Such as cs configure or something. I think u'd even be able 2 use such a newbie coding like visual basic to be able 2 create it. Donno just a suggestion for u or 4 someone else 2 help those ppl out there who have no idea what a config.cfg is. :S
acctually, i'm not sure if one even exist. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> i'll look into it though.
