<div class="IPBDescription">Some advantages for marines aliens and both of getting p-res for kills</div>This adds a bigger bonus to playing as a team and discourage Rambo players trying to run out and do it all alone. As well, it would also encourage the strategic switching of commander during the game. Why would this be good? It would further encourage team communication and allow more strategic options by switching out commanders occasionally. And maybe a commander just wants to see some action on the front lines every once in a while.
Marines:
It encourages the marines to group together for protection and to try and bottleneck hallways as opposed to everyone just running around and dying. It would also reward the marines that stay together and use tactics by allowing them to buy more guns and such as they please. This would make the marines who work together a stronger endgame team as they would have more/better weapons.
Switching marine commanders:
P-res for kills would encourage a more supportive role for the commander. Since placing weapons for your team costs p-res, anyone who does well on the front lines for a while could trade off with command, drop off a weapons load to his hommies on the front lines, and give them an extra boost. As well, to encourage this play style, the weapons that are dropped off by the commander could cost slightly less which would again encourage team communication as well as commander switching.
Aliens:
This would encourage the aliens to think more tactically and use more hit and run tactics as opposed to just throwing yourself against marine defenses over and over without worrying about dying. It would also make a rush a more tactical option, as a failed rush would just feed the other team. Again, it obviously makes the team that works together a lot better as time goes on. As well, this would make the gorge a much more effective player. Since hydra's cost 10 personal res, it hard to do too much besides make a minor holdup for the enemy anywhere later in the game as a grenade launcher or two annihilates them instantly. This would encourage better gorge player who could play a crucial role in base defense and expansion since mini-cysts also cost p-res.
Switching alien commanders:
Right now cysts cost personal res. By getting p-res for kills, the commander can lay out the cysts without out worrying about running out. After he does, someone who just owned face on the front lines can take his place while he gets to go see some FPS actions. Meanwhile the new commander lays out the cysts like mad, allowing for a quick rush of infestation. This would then encourage the marines to take down more cysts along their way so they don't get horribly pilled up by a good alien team, making marine advance impossible.
So why would this be great? Towards the endgame the team who has been working together effectively would have a little more of an advantage. What if both teams have good teamwork? By the endgame it would be more of a clash of greater powers. You would have stronger more evolved aliens fighting better equipped marines with jet-packs and heavy armor (later on), which would make the games get more epic as they get longer. It would also encourage more versatile gorge players as well which has a lot of potential to be a game changer if done well.
I think it would be better to favor the marines just a little as far as the lowing of the weapon costs when commanders place them, as to weigh out the added versatility and advantage the gorge could bring to the aliens. Why? Because right now the statistics of game wins is toward the aliens around 60% of the time on all maps.
A simple suggestion, and the interesting effects it could have on gameplay.
Encourages better communication,
more teamplay,
a small bonus to switching commander occasionally,
and makes the gorge a more attractive team player.

Comm switching... maybe this would somehow work in clan matches, in which case you usually have a professional comm who does it for the team. You also don't tend to swap out the people who are killing all the aliens. In public play this would never work in a million years. Also, if you want to spend your personal res on your team, buy a gun and drop it. People pick up shotguns whenever they see them.
This does the opposite of discourage Rambo players... it.... encourages them...
At the moment, you rambo, you die, you lose your weapon. You stick with a team, you don't die, you keep your weapon. Add this in, and there won't be anything holding back the rambo players any more. But the ones who play as a team will be overflowing with res.
The game rarely becomes about "stronger better lifeforms". You have skulks, gorges and lerks because you need them. They provide some necessary service to the team.
This would also make losing teams lose harder.
