Lag since patch

<div class="IPBDescription">Spiking</div>Have been running NS 2 for past 2 weeks without much issue, but since the patch update today i have been experience lag spikes.. 1-2 seconds of nothing and major porting when combat hits, the more shooting/biting the worse it gets, though sometimes its bad 1 on 1.

avg'ing 50-60fps (18-19ms)
and 70-100ping (mostly sits on 100 though once a room fills up)
any ideas? graphical errors?

(P.S. specs of computers are pretty high.. windows scores me 7.7 processor 7.8 ram (16gig) 7.9 graphics and 7.9 gaming graphics......)

    Hi and welcome to the forums.

    Everyone has this problem at the moment. I'm sure it will be better in the next patch.

    The 1-2 second hitches are the game compiling shaders for the first time. This should only happen a couple of times and then the game should be good to go (once the files are compiled they are cached on disk so it will never need to do this again).

    If you are getting more than a few of these hitches, then something is wrong. Can you check the directory %appdata%\Natural Selection 2\cache and report what is in there?
