Alien Blood!

<div class="IPBDescription">Why not?</div>Im not sure what UW take on blood splatters and decals is at the moment. But I was thinking it would be really pretty to see some alien blood splats that glow orange. kinda like the bio-luminescence that the alien team already has so much of. would add a little more atmospheric tang to an area after an intense fire fight, not only that but as it stands unloading a clip into an Onos or Fade as is, doesnt feel like you really packed a punch unless its sitting there dead infront of you. A nice thick pool of glowy orange blood would just be awesome to see after a skulk eats a few rounds.

Any one ele's think this is a easy to do, awesome idea?

I think we will see something like this, when UWE get's around actually building it.
But imho this is probably considered pretty low on the feature list as it's only visual without any actual gameplay impact.

Maybe make it something more fun then just blood decals on hit? Kharaa could leave a small blood trail when they are hurt and have lost all armor, but nothing too drastic after all we want skulks still to be able to hide. Heh... have a skulk hide at the ceiling when he's hurt, marine stands below and notices the dripping blood, looks up and BAM skulk in your face surprise! ;)

I have got to say it is strangely satifying when u blast something to oblivion and bits of everything go flying in all directions :P I mostly refer to painkiller. More prominant hit decals and blood splatter would be much more fun (without that sounding weird ) U feel like ur having an effect on the thing ur shooting/chomping/slicing/crushing/mashing...etc all the other inventive ways NS seems to find to kill :P.

A good counter example was on a killing floor mod version of Defence Alliance 2 on some servers when fighting creatures the server had hit decals turned off or hardly noticeable and u felt like u were hitting nothing.

Dripping blood would certainly add that predator hunt feel to the game :P esspecially a minigun predator moment of "Its injured" *turns around to get sliced in the face* lol

But definatly priorities first. Game needs to be working and finished first :P haha

Im just glad to see some people agree with me. I dont know if you agree on the color choice? But I love the orange undertones that NS aliens have going for them ^_^
