I have say I tend to hide hydras in places out of easy gunfire range, but they should reduce the cost to 5 pres to allow the building of a few more early on as they arnt as effective as rein mines.
Without the ability to build healing units gorges buildings tend to be easy pickings, gorge just isnt exciting enough at the moment.
Perhaps the ability to mark areas for the alien commander to build ?
Having just recently gotten into NS2, and being a long time player of NS1, I really do hope something is done for hydras. Gorges already feel lackluster in comparison to their NS1 counter-parts; and since Hydras are really their "thing" right now it's not much helping the situation.
EDIT: Figured I'd also mention the Onos experience right now is extremely disorienting. Between knocking someone down and being unable to tell if you've actually hit them with your primary attack, the whole experience feels disconnected compared to the NS1 Onos.

Stomp the IPs into the ground so they can't spawn and have your Fades and Lerks take care of the jetpacking marines and simply keep the IPs disabled with one Onos. The Other Oni can then work on the Command Station with Gorge support if the need arises... That should help a lot...
We tried the IPs too but with the game slowing to a crawl when I was in the base, and every gun shooting at me, I wasn't able to tank long enough to do any real damage that they couldn't weld while I was gone. They also placed most of their important structures deep in their base so you had to jump through too many hoops to do any real good.
It was too laggy for Fades or Lerks to do anything. Any time they went in they would slow to a grind and get shot to pieces before they knew it.

More of a performance issue then and in the case of the slow lumbering Onos this is indeed an issue. Bilebombing their base prevents them from repairing the damage you did though, as well as gradually drain the base health.
