Our TSF scientists have stated that the nanites within Frontiersmen troopers can keep them from feeling the effects of fatigue for days on end.

By sitting in the Command Station for prolonged periods of time, it is recorded that the Commander has a 0.865472 lower average reaction time compared to a Commander that is standing up right; therefore, we have eliminated the chair and renamed the console to a Command Station.

Actually, command chairs completely disassemble the occupying Marine into thought-controlled nanites that can interface with their local environment's tactical surveilance/response systems. That's why all Kharaa inside are vaporized upon the closing of a command chair; you can actually see the empty place the commander would be if he had a physical form if you look through the cracks in the CC's ceiling.

If you climb on the rail at the front of the CS by the login screen, when the commander logs in you can get into the empty command station and hide from the aliens..

We had great fun doing this on a gather warm-up earlier today. If you don't get exactly the right position, you get closed into the roof of the comm station. You can shoot attacking skulks from this position, but you can also be eaten as your head is sticking out the top :)
