Power pack bug

<div class="IPBDescription">=(</div>After a few pretty badass ninja phase gates I discovered what appears to be a small bug: at a powerpack doesn't seem to work between rooms.

I haven't had a chance to test this, but I was playing summit, and I had placed a power pack somewhere in pipe junction nearer to xr, which dropped the Data Core power node. I then put a phase gate that must've been right over the boundary because it dropped the power node in Pipe Junction. So.. that being said once both objects were up the phase gate was still unpowered.

Basically, if a power pack and the object it's powering are across room boundaries it doesn't work.

Anyone else heard of/having this issue? It doesn't seem to be there on purpose..

It still works for me, can you reproduce it and maybe provide screenshots? Also, was the line connected? Can't use power packs through walls either

I THINK it's because powerpack wasn't placed FIRST...
Since the connection is decided DURING placement. Maybe there's no "find the next nearest target" for an unused powerpack...

Hm, well yes it was and it was not through a wall. I'll try to get screenshots. The phase gate was even up but in the unpowered animation. Both objects had full hp and the marine that built it was like "wtf" too.

I did place the powerpack first. When I dropped it the power node in Data Core autodropped, which in and of itself I think is bad (the powerpack shouldn't trigger the power node)
After I dropped the phase gate the power node in Pipe Junction autodropped. There was nothing I did that distinguished it from any other attempt I made at building these ninja setups and all the rest worked.

I guess this is pretty anecdotal without a pic, I'm sorry i didn't snap one i'll try to recreate it.

Edit: Oh weezl I understand now.. yes I think you are right but the thing is I have dropped the powerpack and then the phase many times already and the powpack finds it nearby. and as it stands right now when I do a cheats 1 server the powerpack doesn't even trigger the power node in a room... .-. I must be going insane...

I was the one building this combo in this game, and it is indeed a bug. The issue is I can't recreate it either. It was in pipe junction though down the first hallway. The pack was near the end and the gate was a little further up the hallway. The node in that are hadn't been built before so when he dropped the gate after the pack was built that popped up as to be built. After the gate was built it was unpowered. It did power up after I built the node, so it was almost like the pack didn't work. Also this was probably the 3rd or 4th pack that had been dropped that game (if that matters).

Dropping a power pack in the room does not trigger the power node socket, but dropping an attached structure to the power pack does drop the power node (which is a problem, will be fixed). I am still trying to reproduce the bug as well. I think there is an actual room issue running back and forth between data core/pipe junction, but it is not room connection related (I can make it work in other room to rooms)
