Remove recylcing

Dear dev.

can you please remove recyling of marines.

I'm tired of losing games because people giving up, whining, crying and ###### when a commander turtles in with sentry, how lame they might think it is, its a valid tatic to eventual win if rest of team suck at attacking aliens properly.

This what mostly happends

Commander does out most best get everything done for group

Group fails to overcome aliens and aliens taking over more and more of map.

commander make sentry to prevent total disaster and over run ( want to win eventual with arc and with upgrades )

######y girls start to whine at commander its this fault. (and enemy team whining they cant win because fail as well)

Commander get kicked after all hard work.

Random ###### girly boy goes into command and mass sell while majorty of groups wants to keep fighting and aliens are ###### they cant win.

For love of the game, remove recyling at all or only let new commander recyincle what he mades, not what pevious made, but please do something about this lame behavoir of mass selling for fast games.

    So you want to be able to force your team through the unenjoyable play situations that you create, even after they've banded together for the specific purpose of removing you from the chair?

    Yeah, no. I'm pretty sure this is exactly what recycling was made for. Even more so than forward bases or dying harvesters.

    I think recycling was made so that marines can be versatile, and recover the cost of (un)successful endeavours. I don't see why there's no equivalent whatsoever for aliens, after 10 years of NS. I'm sure someone who reads all the design documents can tell me the reasoning for it, though.

    It just happens that recycling doubles as a way to end idiotic games that waste everyone's time. You won't get it removed from the game by complaining and posting your one anecdote, sorry.

    I often recycle when I see my team failing at holding/welding RTs and the aliens push already with Fades and BB. Sure Marines can still win but it will end in Sentryspam, GLspam and ARCspam.

    And I know how lame and boring it is for Aliens to fight AI units and AoE DMG spam. Sure I can destroy 10 sentrys as Lerks but it needs time and is boring. I love to 1on1 Marines because the chance of dying is bigger in a Close Spkie fight and even if I die I get my adrenaline. But if I die on 10 sentrys I get frustrated.
    Same for marines. Sitting at the armory and spam GL shots or welde the base without pause for 10min, letting the ARCs and Sentrys do the job you wan't, and for sure they also have more fun than the Marine constantly welding it (Marines are objectophil somehow).

    And the chance of LAG and Crashes increase in such stalemates. Rather have 10min of high quality fun earlygame than a boring 120min that often ends in the team winning that not all players, but one, crashed at the same time!

    if a commander really wants to screw up the game, he will always find a way (be it just playing intentionally very bad). removing the recycle will not fix that problem imo, it will only prolong the matches. however, it would buy players some time to realise that the com is doing a bad job, giving them the opportunity to vote him out of the chair. but considering it is probably already not during a good-looking situation, the period the commander can grief will still bee too long. so i'm in favor of keeping the mechanic in the game for purposes of versatile tactics.

    Marine comms building sentries when the game is over is the most frustrating and boring element of NS2 in public play.

    Well, since you were voted out the majority of the must have disagreed with your commanding, but I have to agree that in 95% of the cases people recyclign entire bases is just lame.

    ScardyBob made a good suggestion there, that whoever is voted com at the beginning of the round stays com

    Its just 1 time i was commander, I had many games that where good then alien team cought up and giving marines hard time and visa versa and then just give up by recyling everthing because takes to long.

    Sorry but game is always the same. 1 team got eliminate the other. If takes 10 sec or 1 to 2 hour should not make a difference.

    Personaly for me i enjoy longer tougher fights giving more joyfu feelying when overcomming the enemy that got upper hand.

    Just selling everything and give up to your enemy should not be a option at all. Ever.

    If you want fast shooting games play deathmath and go run around mindless there. This is rts shooter and if turtle your self in to strike back later is option to win you should take that.

    At moment this fight give marines upperhand but simple sollution to it, give aliens a arc ehat ever its called version to take out buildings if forms attack got no use, though these things should be limited. Mass buildig them rush in is no fun either, should be tatical attack with protection to keep things intersting.

    I just find it annoying people give up because takes to long. In a real war or what ever you fight for, you wont simple walk to your enemy unarmed and say "this takes to long just shoot me and you win" its not in human nature to give up on anything.

    As said before does not matter game wise if game takes hour or more, the fights keeps the same. 1 of the 2 side will be victorios and you should die fighting that your side is one that wins not the other and if thats not your game then play DM those are fast pace games, rts takes time.

    I agree with the sentiment, but i'm not sure the proposed solution is the right thing to do.

    I too am sick of people that give up 5 minutes into the game because it's not going their teams way or they died a few too many times or something and they start saying sell the IPs and F4ing. This goes for the team I am playing on an the *enemy* team, because when you start winning and the enemy just gives up and sits on top of the hive it makes finishing the game feel really sh<i>i</i>tty and pointless. People act like if you're not going to win the match there's no point in playing at all, like winning gets you some kind of prize.

    I think that the problem is compounded by the fact that games are much shorter like the OP says, "If you want fast shooting games play deathmath and go run around mindless there."
    People seem to just want fast and quick games rather than a nice long struggle with evenly matched teams where the balance switches many times over the course of the match until one team eventually wins. Getting a game like that is like a 1 in 5 occurance when I play.
