    You should add a new section to the handbook Them. "Don't leak the handbook."

    <!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Since Valve is flat, people don’t join projects because
    they’re told to. Instead, you’ll decide what to work on

    Sounds like a place where big egos would become over inflated fast

    Why is that? I see quite the opposite, with no job title inflating one's ego, one would be rated based on their actual worth.

    You'll notice a trend throughout the book that emphasizes that people need to self-organize. Which is a social operation. Someone with a big ego wouldn't be able to organize well with others and would fall in actual value quickly.

    In other words, people that trend towards inflated self importance either settle down or they don't last long.

    There are plenty of big personalities though, but that's more comical than serious.
