First look at NS2

Hi guys i just finished playing NS2 for the first time and <u>WOW!</u>
First of all, i played NS1 for quite some time so i thought i could move about as normal..
My first disappointment was not being able to bunnyhop as skulk :( but oh well it's a "new" game so we'll let it pass.
Now after playing two rounds as aliens on a random server my impression was poor.
I expected some of the old ns elements to transfer from the old to new but as i played more everything i liked about the old one vanished..
There are some elements in the new game i really like, infestation for one and i like the idea behind the power system but the implementation is lacking.
but oh well it's a game in progress and i know the devs have been wanting to play around with some ideas :)
Some of them go too far, since i was playing my first games i sticked to being skulk for most of the game since it's the safest lifeform with "no responsibilities".
I enjoyed the skulk since it's a simple chomping machine all you have to do is press wasd and hold the mouse (Wish that worked though) and you carve through the marines.
After some time i wanted to play around with the lerk and was really surprised, i loved the rework they did although i miss my bite but they made it workable and really useful for the team, After some playing the hive we have been waiting for is complete..
Then i realized i became god! I could fly around and dodge as i wanted and BILEBOMB the marine base. So that's what i did the next 10 minutes or so until they fought back.
Instead of the 'ol good shotty they started building massive allien lifeform consuming black holes they called "Turrets".
Wow i don't know how many times i tried approaching one but came to a complete stop after half a second just so i could flee back to regenerate.
When i got behind them i was thankful they couldn't turn 360° and started throwing the bombs.
Of course as all good things it had to come to an end and eventually someone came and killed me with a brand new flamethrower :)
So i had plenty of res after taking the time to kill all those structures and marines so i decided to try the onos!
I must say it was very very new and nice but very strange at the same time.
First of all the first attack was really really useful, I hit a guy and he got thrown back and stunned!
Then i figured why not try to hit a couple of guys and keep them from standing up after getting hit and it worked like a charm!
I got 4-5 guys grouped up and started hitting them, and i kept stunning them with my hits if i had to stop one from getting a shot of the shoptgun i would hit him a little bit more.
After managing to kill those guys without a single problem but after a while i felt really strange because they removed my devour and added a stun to the attack so the onos could nullify all damage from 2-3 targets at all time while the team kills the rest..
That's mostly what happened both games, it was like a script (But maybe you can blame the players for that i have yet to find out).
I must say i completely support the Unknown worlds team in making this game and have proven so on two occasions.
I love how the game looks, i like the atmosphere, i love the sounds!
But i don't want to see one of my most loved and played games in the wrong direction, Away from their goal!

Power nodes is a commonly discussed issue. Not sure how they should change it though.
I do miss the bite on the lerk, but they have so many abilities now its not like its gimped the class.
Devour was an interesting ability, but was a bit boring for whoever got eaten. Onos may need to be discussed again after exosuits make their entry.
I like the direction the game is taking generally, and the developers are open enough to suggestions that if you have good ideas they might be done. So start thinking!
