Best way to learn command

<div class="IPBDescription">yr mum</div>So I just got into the game about a week ago, but this game has replaced LoL as my most played game for that week. Anyway just want to know the best way to learn command without ruining people's games because you suck at it. I was thinking I'd just play tons of games as a footman until you get used to whats expected of a good commander. The problem is most commanders are also somewhat new and therefore not that great. How then shall I learn command?

Just go command and ask your team what to do. If your team gets so fed up they will eject you but that doesn't happen too often. If it does just go in another server and command until you get the hang of it. Shouldn't take that long.

1) create a LAN game, type cheats 1 in console, hop in the chair, and go through every single tech choice available to you. that way you at least know wtf people are talking about when they are screaming "WE NEED ARMOR 2, NUB COMM" and have a general idea of what building does what.

2) get a mic. seriously, commanding without a mic, especially as a new comm, is a surefire way to get ejected.

3) ask questions, talk to the team. there's almost always at least 1 or 2 vets who can walk you through things. i can't count how many times there's been a new comm who gets yelled at, then jumps out of the chair and says "well you do it then" and ragequits. point being, if we know you're new, we can help you along, and get less rageface when we don't get mines until 15 minutes in.

4) keep comming, don't get discouraged. yeah you lose, but you get better.
