As strategic recommendations for the commander
Valve Software provides public "Death Maps" regarding their HL2:EP2 maps, which indicates through accumulative transparent coloring, in what area of the maps the most player deaths occurred. Sample image: http://www.steampowered.com/status/ep2/dea...d_11_deaths.jpg

It would be very interesting, cool, awesome and helpful if these kind of statistical maps were available for NS2 maps. It would be an extreme help for the commander's decisions on where to place attack/defensive/supportive structures.

However, please consider the fact that this would remove a part of the process of having to learn how to command and gain command experience. If UWE would like to retain the full feature of learning and gaining experience in NS2, you should not construct these statistics (publicly).

A version of an implementation would perhaps be in-round realtime specific statistics. That is, not statistics gathered from multiple rounds. This would also reduce/eliminate the removal of the process of the commander's gathering of experience and learning.

Aliens theme regarding the technology would perhaps be some kind of scenting of death pheromones. Marines would have the hi-tech technology to gather and display historical-statistical fatality data to the commander.

Everyone, please express your thoughts about this in this topic.
