I'd like to be excited about this but I'm kinda 'meh' about it. I'm getting really sick of normal MMO combat and this looks like the standard 'stand and hit each other' routine when you cross swords. That said, it's got some interesting ideas (including pinching the car alarms summoning zombies thing from left 4 dead for example) and it'd be interesting to play an MMO based in the modern age for a change, I guess.
Thought it was supposed to be about real world locations, which was a hook for me at first. Now though it looks so random, and half the screenshots look like fantasy worlds, others like sci-fi, and some like left for dead.
I think they tried to make it appeal to a wide audience by setting the game in different locations. In the end though it doesn't have a strong visual identity. Different screenshots look like they come from different games...different studios even. None of the environments make me want to download the game and explore them.
Don't know how they'll compete with Guild Wars 2.
I really like Tørnquist's TLJ series and the gameplay ideas behind this game seem nice, but the combat looked clunky and the animations looked horrible when I saw a few trailers about a month ago.
Thanks for the heads up.
Different target audiences perhaps.
Age of Conan Reskinned and probably has no end-game content
Plus the instanced mode that they take with this mmo, ugh.. Tree world? what?

Gameplay here
Also, the character models are kinda hideous. It was less a character creator and more a mutant maker -.-
I think they kinda missed a trick here... this would've been a lot more interesting if it'd had an insanity system, less emphasis on combat (to the point of maybe even it mainly being avoiding combat :o ) and more emphasis on exploration and investigation.
If I get into any more beta weekends I'll give it another stab as I hate not to give anything a decent shot before writing it off, but it took genuine effort on my part to continue playing as long as I did until the server died.
Oh and apparently if your framerates are in the gutter, turning off tesselation does wonders :3
