Live Dev Q&A

<div class="IPBDescription">Where should we ask questions?</div>Hello all, for reasons I can or can't divulge, I probably won't be able to ask questions to the devs during the live Q and A. I was wondering if there was a topic under which people like myself who have some questions that they would like an answer to can post them in hopes that someone else would be kind enough to ask? If not I'll post here.

I'd like to know if it's planned for alien commanders to be able to cyst on walls and ceilings?

I'm sure there are more pressing questions, but I'm still curious none the less. I have more I'd like to ask as well, but this is the one that's probably been nagging at me the most, and I'd like to ask the rest in the correct topic.

Thank you.

Oddly enough I've been wondering the same thing. Infestation (from the alien commander) taking over entire rooms, walls and ceilings included, would look awesome. It looks really strange to only have the floor infested.

As for your actual topic, the Q&A's kind of seem impromptu so there may not be a clear cut schedule but it's still be cool to have a thread like this.

Final infestation (3D growth rather than flat decals) is meant to grow up walls etc, so it'll depend on whether infestation from a cyst grows constantly outwards up to a set distance from the cyst, or if it's more like every surface within a radius (which ignores height) gets covered.

It's a live Q&A so if you're not around just make a regular post in a relevant forum topic and you'll get answer sometime.

You can also ask on Twitter, I believe. They got questions from there last time.

    I wasn't able to register on twitch.tv because I can't get past their anti-bot sign-up...

Website is such a headache. Videos start auto playing when I'm trying to register. Then it makes me listen to a robot read out numbers in a changing voice.

LMAO I'll just ask on Twitter.

And if you wanna make sure your question is asked during the show, use one of those sites that lets you delay the tweets until a certain time

I can answer this for you right now. The alien commander will not be able to place cysts on walls and ceilings, however the infestation will grow on the walls and ceilings in the area where the cyst was placed. This is actually working like this in the current dev build and will be in the next patch.

Untill I see how this will work in the next patch I feel that ( based on current build ) gorges should NOT have a cap on cysts it feels really wrong when a gorge recycles a/multiple cysts to build them elsewhere and end up cutting the cyst chain.

Gorge cysts should be incorporated into the main cyst chain after x seconds IMO.

Can't wait to see the next iteration of Dynamic Infestation. It has been at placeholder status for a while now.

It's still quite placeholder but just spreads in the Z axis. More work is still planned for it.

Awesomeness, thank you for the quick reply. I'm happy to know that fully infested hive rooms will be in. And soon, too!
