Commander Stuff

My two cents on improvement
First up, as Com I would like to resize my mini map, I don't need the largest field of view possible. I would however like to keep a better eye on what is going on in my map. I think it is way too small for Com'ing.

Second, I would like the nano stuff show up when I select players. This would save some clicks and headaches. Plus, I don't see the point in having movement commands (the basic ones, not the spiffy harass, attack, etc) when I just have to right click to do the same thing.

Third, I would like to see a large ish icon pop up somewhere when research on something is complete that I could click on if I wanted to or let sit there until I click on it. At times I have 3-4 things researching and I don't want to have to look around to figure out which one it was.

Fourth, I'm sure you're working on this but changing the looks of the two different nano's would make it easier to explain to new Com's which one is which.

You can use your mini-map as Comm, I dunno if the keybinds are interfering with each other for you - but I rebound my map to my mouse 5 so its always handy.

Can you clarify a bit on your second and third points?
For the second pint are you talking about the blue grid thing for when building?
On the third point, doesn't that already happen - a large icon on the right side of the screen pops up doesn't it?

The fourth point makes sense, there are other icons which they still need to update as well. Its just gonna take some time for the Devs to get around to icons.

I know I bring up a larger map when I need it (using 'M' key). What I want to do is make the current minimap a bit larger. Even on my 23" monitor the minimap is a bit small for my liking as Com. When I'm justing running around as a rine it's fine.

When I select a marine, the menu changes in the bottom right (the boxy thing, whatever that thing is called, its late) but it doesn't have medpack, nanoshield, nanobuildy thing. It just has movement, attack, defend, harass, and other stuff there. The movement command is worthless and I don't see a real need for attack or defend either. I don't want to have to select the marine, go to the assist menu, then give them something. I would rather just select the marine and then give them what they need. Saves me one click/key press and one potential error. However, I guess having this all in one menu means that its always where it should be. Thus making it easier to learn and fortifies muscle memory.

They do but again they are small, they look rather the same, and dissapear on you after some bit of time. I would rather see a que type of system for them where the newest notification was at the top and the oldest at the bottom. But, they would stay there until I either click on them or they are shuffled off the que.

I'm probably just be picky....who knows. Man I'm tired......

Its more like a.. helper - if I happen to spot a blip, I can give a shout out to the rest of the team.

Ah, this makes more sense, and yes I agree its totally annoying. I don't often Comm Marine side (too strenuous), but for the Khamm its the same thing. There is another similar bug on Khamm side where if you click a structure of some sort and then go back to your regular build menu, it will randomly bring you back to that structure's menu once in a while. Does get quite bothersome.

That being said, I can see the importance of movement/attack/defense commands - to help players know what to do. Problem is, most times they don't know what to do, they wont listen to the Comm anyway. *Shrug* Its an issue, but I'm unsure what I would do.

The only problem I have with this is that it blocks view space. The current system which pops up info then has it fade out works well for me. Maybe they could have an option to not auto-clear it off the screen?
