I wouldn't recommend that. Because if you turn cheats on, you unlock all the commands, such as give lerk spawning a lerk. It's quite easy to crash the server unless you are really careful. You can also turn on godmode...

Here's the funny thing. If someone is in godmode and you turn cheats of, they will still be invincible. And they can't even turn it of by will then. Unless they changed that in a patch, but it's probably a limitation of the engine (not allowing the cheat commands when cheats are off)
Vortex makes structures and players nearby turn ethereal, making them not interact with anything any more. Not even blinking fades or other ethereal entities. That's how it functions now anyhow.

I see. So it effectively renders them useless for a few seconds. I cant figure much use for the ability outside of disabling an armory or an IP/Phase. I guess thats preetty useful though...
In fact, now that I think of it, that would be a really great way to counter a phase gate push.
thats cause its not really in the game yet... the reason its not in the steam build is because we still didnt really have everything working right. But yes with cheats you can play with it and see it, but dont count on it doing the same thing when its released.
At least you can't disable the armslab upgrades with it by hitting the armslab. It kind of looks pretty concerning in combination with stomp going off all the time in endgame to be Crowd Control Selection 2, but we'll have to wait and see how it plays out in the wild. You are decently vulnerable when casting vortex as a fade after all. Umbra is just as powerful as ever as well, I almost want to say that the alien t3 abilities need to be held off until Exo is ready to go in because they are going to destroy the balance(well, destroy it more) if marines do not even get their Onos-Equivalent in yet, let alone the specialty weapons on it like Railgun and Claw.
Xenocide is also in, just do give xenocide in console with cheats enabled (and it has been for a while).
You can also use exosuit if you type exo in console, but there are no models or animations... basically all that happens is that you can kill eggs by walking over them and get soem effects.

Just go up to an IP as fade, use the attack. RR, J1 and you spawn in to the time bubble.
Effects structures as well.
Interesting concept, not sure how it will play out...
Also, you can test out Xenocide..

It's much faster just to type 'marine' into the console while in cheats mode. You can also type 'give marine' or whatever if you want to test thirdperson stuff.

Don't do this..... it will lag servers and maybe crash them.

It will be useful pretty much all the time (think of stasis in Starcraft, vortex in Starcraft 2)
Any time you're fighting things, you temporarily remove some of them. The left-overs are weaker, so you kill them, then you kill the ones you removed previously.
In other words, it's a very polarizing ability that will be tremendously hard to 'get right'..

All of that stuff hasn't been balanced yet, so the T3 that you guys are playing with now was mainly put in to see if it works, and how well it could work. As of right now the Umbra doesn't cost energy at all because it hasn't been coded yet. This is all raw and when we start playing with it on Monday we'll begin looking at getting a decent balance in for it.
Exo: depending on how fast and how many bugs we get with 210 there's a high chance you won't see it in 210.

In fact, now that I think of it, that would be a really great way to counter a phase gate push.
For example, if used on a power node - does that shut all the power down for 5 seconds? Because it should do.
Could be great for some coordinated attacks.

I mean, you have this HUGE gap between shotgun/lmg and exo.
You have to get proto lap, research exo, etc... then you have to research its weapons.
You can also use exosuit if you type exo in console, but there are no models or animations... basically all that happens is that you can kill eggs by walking over them and get soem effects.
