Several weeks later, I still cannot wrap my head around this. Apparently this is supposed to be baby's first game or something and we have to remove anything that might confuse toddlers.

It was redundant, and not immediately intuitive or obvious which were mini cysts or normal cysts to new commanders or players, and what specific differences there were. (range, hp, abilities like cyst rupture etc) Not to mention the most important part: it didn't fit well with the Gorge's changes in design, as it could potentially cripple a team just because someone changed classes, not knowing that they destroyed an important cyst chain.

Besides, there's also the roles to consider: Alien commander is supposed to be the Cosmic Gardener who tends to infestation/growth.
Oh, and the final implementation of infestation is supposed to be Dynamic to some degree, remember? not much need for a gorge there..

How the hell is it confusing?

    It's 2 things to memorize.

OMG! Skulk has bite! Lerk has bite! WTF HOW DO I TELL THE DIFFERENCE?

Gorge gets ###### more and more every patch.

The gorge redesign was so bad, I can't fathom how anyone thought it was a good idea. Why the hell does everything have to be free for aliens? Rines can buy mines with Pres, gorges could buy OC's and cysts and ###### with PRES, and now gorge is just a ###### joke/

This was a change for the better.

When the Gorge could place cysts, the commander became more reliant on them maintaining the chain network. It now means you are more aware of broken chains as you are the only one responsible for them.

Also, everything Ironhorse said. When the Gorge started placing cysts over and above the original 10, it started to break the chain system.

Charlie has stated the Gorge will be getting more as we go along.

As for the Gorge buying stuff, I think it is too hard to balance based on pres. It the current version the Gorge works really well as either a forward or rear defensive/attack builder.

Hydras are tough in groups of three now. I think this limit system would work well for marines and sentry guns as well, which means they could be beefed up rather than the spam tools that they are.

Do we really want to see 1000 hydras on the map?

I think it was a great change removing mini-cysts, just as ironhorse explained. Just waiting for his structures to cost res again.

Most of this could have been solved by having regular cysts on pres.

But it's the eternal fight between alien commander and the gorge. Now that alien commander has been introduced it's probably better to forget about the builder-gorge and to move on a more combat oriented life-form.

    Edit : lol, poor gorgy.

    I think we're done here.

You could do with learning to put your views forward in a more mature and reasonable fashion.
