Would something like AMD CodeAnalyst be useful for improving performance?

AMD has a program called CodeAnalyst (http://developer.amd.com/tools/CodeAnalyst/Pages/default.aspx) that is supposed to test the code for efficiency. It tests C++, but does not test LUA. Would something like that be helpful?
