I have no idea what about 50% of their tweets are about. Just reading them on the front page of the website. Without context many of them are quite confusing.

Heh, you're pretty much describing me reading twitter feeds in general. I think many are replies to other tweets. Looking those up would probably clarify a lot.

I think it's there for the announcements that are made through tweets, for instance when new builds are released (A bit ironic that I should choose this example, considering valve's fubar with 211 :x).
I'm not sure if such a feed can filter between replies and separate tweets. We'll have to ask Hugh (NS2HD)!

Edit: Or at least, they did. They seem to be posting manually on Facebook now (or at least more often).

To me all these tweets appear sensical and logical, and stand alone. If you could share what exactly makes them all incomprehensible I would very much appreciate it.

At the moment, the tweets are sensible. Every now an then I'll see an oddball. Usually its when someone tweets a question at NS2. All that will show up on the website (unknownworlds.com/ns2) is NS2's response to the question. Haven't seen thatvin a while. I think that was before Hugh arrived. Then again, I'm not a Twitter person, don't use it, don't understand it. I'm mean seriously. How do they find enough bird feed for all those carrier pigeons?

Twitter makes a distinction between reply tweets and stand-alone tweets. You should do the same anywhere you're posting a twitter feed, if that's possible.
"@Clutch08 thrilled you are enjoying it Clutch! http://t.co/rLXBRuIP for beta access, steam store page coming closer to release about 6 hours ago"
Enjoying what? Who is Clutch?
I think these are the questions the OP is asking himself.

Clutch08 tweeted "@Clutch08: So far @NS2 is well paced, fast strategy/shooting and a lot of fun. You should check out the beta on Steam! Worth the money"
you can view the tweets UWE is answering if you view the feed on twitter.com itself. you can expand the "conversation" to see what people were asking/talking about.
example: @g33kz0rd: @NS2 hi awesome guys, any of you could recommend some resources ( book or nice webpages ) to get into multiplayer game patterns??
@NS2: @g33kz0rd Sure! This book is a nice start: http://www.amazon.com/The-Art-Game-Design-...s/dp/0123694965 More stuff to follow from @Flayra tomorrow
I have to second this notion. A lot of the tweets are meaningless when viewed out of context, which can get confusing when you're reading them on the website or in the game menu. In order to figure out what's being discussed over twitter, one has to go a fair ways out of their way. Sorting responses to other tweets out of the website/game feed would probably clear this up completely.
Wow, is it really that hard to understand which ones are replies? Of course it looks a little weird when you only see one side of a conversation - it's like trying to figure out what's going on by listening to one person on the phone.
If you need to know, click the names of any "@" in the twitter and find the one directed @NS2. That's the conversation.

I would say I understand about 85% of what is tweeted. The 15% is fun to read too so no harm.
