Remove infestation slowdown for marines

Slowdown on infestation is just such a drag for marines. Infestation should give aliens a static speed boost, but only a little, and not make the marines feel like an elephant; you can't really do any kind of dodging vs a skulk or vs anything on infestation. I guess it's realistic that marines move slower on infestation but it seriously is just not good thing overall:

-Remove infestation slowdown for marines, add a little speed bonus for aliens on infestation, gg.

Yes plz, less negative stuff. Together with spam-able cysts its a big problem. I was happy when it was removed some builds ago. Is it now officially back? Maybe its just a mistake from UWE since it wasn't in the changelog?

Infestation reduces marine speed by 10%. I definitely dislike the snares, specially with cysts so abundant.

Infestation already gives a lot of really powerful bonuses to aliens. You have the shift/crag/shade infestation upgrades (speed/healing/detection respectively) which are incredibly good as well as denying marines building space for forward/sneak PGs or armories.

I really don't see why it needs to do more, or slow them down on top of that.

(@ OP- I think the speed bonus was/is supposed to be the shift upgrade? but it's not implemented yet)

despite any infestation bonus you get, the sprint penalty currently is a bug, as far as i know. i will discuss that with the others but im pretty sure this is simply a bug right now (some old code got reactivated)

Marines are suppose to be discouraged from fighting on infestation, rushing past it all. They're suppose to take it out as they work their way advancing steadily.

Which is a nice thought, but it doesn't play well. The harder it is to attack a position, the more likely a stalemate will occur, and nobody likes stalemates.

True, true. Still, I think the solution of this problem is in destroying the cysts. That needs to be fixed/balanced.

Attacking marines can choose to 'rush' a hive with shotguns and arcs, going for a 'glass cannon' attack. If they want to go for a proper siege, they take out the cysts (GL's, anyone?), set up a forward base (Armory, PG, sentry) and work from there.

I think it's a reason to NOT go in without a bigger plan. I like bigger plans. Everyone hated SG rushes in NS1. :X

There've been some really good explanations of why area-based bonuses lead to defensive [insert: boring] gameplay. On top of that, the list of negative abilities in this game is incredibly long and wherever there is even half a reason for culling them, we should. It's an unnecessary debuff for a feature already laden with a wide variety of properties. +1 OP.

Angelusz: Yes, the problem is compounded by the way cysts work currently although there is still very little reason to add movement debuff anyway. The notion that it leads to any kind of interesting strategy/tactics is pretty fallacious because the effect is negligible. If I saw any team not pushing because of a 10% movement nerf I would either explain to them why they're doing it wrong or get my eyes checked (probably the latter as I never see it happen). I agree that cysts are problematic, but I disagree that the debuff grievances are purely derived from them. Let's fix both.
