<div class="IPBDescription">Got a story? Tell it here!!</div> I normally wouldn't post about one game, but this was <b>good</b>. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I just got out of the most grueling game I've played since the game came out ~3 weeks ago. I joined the 6v6 about 5 mins in and went alien on ns_eclipse.
The majority of the marine players were <b>good</b>. They worked well as a team, always moved in groups, and made life very difficult for us aliens. They controlled hives on numerous occasions and made it hell for us to get it back. One hive retrieval took over a half hour, but was well worth it. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
As for the alien side, most alien players knew what to do, and did it well. Gorges weren't too numerous, groups of skulks would keep the marines from expanding, and the support units knew their roles. Nobody assumed leadership because, quite frankly, it wasn't necessary. Everybody knew what to do, and generally did it before someone could request it.
As for resource control, it went back and forth over the whole 3 hour span. We'd control all but their main node for part of the time, but then they'd burst out and rip the map apart with concentrated fire and teamwork. They'd take back several key nodes, then did everything they could to keep them. Turret farms, phase gates, siege cannons..... it was great!! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
There was a few times we were hanging on by our claws to keep our hives, but we barely managed to hold them off. We managed to get the hives back under control and started getting the resource nodes back.
Eventually, we got our 3 hives and most of the resources. The assault on their main took <i>at least</i> 30 minutes itself. They bunkered in the main and had turrets well-placed so that firepower was concentrated on the entrances. Once the first alien went through the doors, they were completely cut down (<i>even an Onos was ripped apart in no time</i>).
Finally, we bust through their nearly-impregnable defense and trashed the base. Even though their defeat was inevitable once we got through, they still put up one hell of a fight. I even saw one marine run up to an Onos, drop a mine at his feet, and have them both get killed by the blast.
I was almost disappointed the match was over. It was the longest, most stressful game I've ever played, but I loved every minute of it.
Numerous posts try to state how the game is unbalanced for whatever reason. As far as I'm concerned, the game was perfect for those three hours. I only hope that server is still available tomorrow evening. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Kudos to the developers, playtesters, mappers, moderators, and fans. This is one hell of a game!! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
<i>ps: Chronos_0, thanks for that morale-boosting soundtrack over voice-comm!!</i> <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

I decided to just keep suiciding myself on the marines till they finished us. Took a Fade up to their HQ opened the door and hit blink. To my suprise it actually worked and i got teleported all the way to the back of their base. I hid behind their comm chair and ducked to avoid all the turret fire and started swinging away.
About 30 secs later i hear footsteps comin at me, i jumped out and started slashing like mad, 3 kills, not too much damage. Ran back behind comm and started swinging more, soon i heard them get spawned back in, jumped out and killed them as they were running off their pads, went back and started swinging at comm some more. Kept doing this and getting everyone that spawned for 4 of their spawn rotations, their comm jumped out and i got him too. i had their comm chair down to the last red bar when they finally killed me off, but just as they did i saw someone on my team make a dash for the chair, he got two hits and it was destroyed.. rest of the game fell to us.
One suicidal rush got me 95% of a comm chair, 9 kills, and the win. That was my personal best so far.
