<div class="IPBDescription">A quick discussion on repairing and points.</div>I think that repairing needs to have a bit more insentive for new players to pick up a welder and repair.
My suggestion would be to grant 2 [points you get for killing/building things] for healing a building/player 25%.
I think this is a good change because the points really doesn't matter and it's satisfying to see them pop up on the screen.

Certainly not adverse to the idea, but I suspect the problem may more likely be that people don't want to spend cash on a welder when they are trying to save for high-tier equipment. I think the only way to combat that would to have welders become standard issue once the comm has researched them, (everyone spawns with them), but obviously that would throw the current balance out of the window.
edit: Or have welders cost team res (at a cheaper cost) and only the commander has the ability to supply welders.

I think it's more of a mental fix. It makes welding more satisfying, whereas now you might leave that 70% extractor and run on to secure a position, people will realize that they can get points = helping out/doing something useful. It makes people more aware of the need of repairing.
It doesn't matter that much, but I agree that it would be cool to receive points for repairing.
