HMG!

<div class="IPBDescription">where is it?</div>I've been following the updates for a while, but in a spotty fashion, so I probably missed anything that was said about the HMG. I just bought this game a couple days ago, and the lack of the HMG made me have a very slight panic attack. (OMFG WHERE IS MY GUN DAMNIT?!?!?!?!?!!!!)
I'd just like to know if it's coming back in any form? Or is the flamethrower the HMG replacement?
I'm just wondering if I can look forward to my favorite weapon returning from NS1. :)

Bring on the EXO's!
Are those the new heavy armor? lol
Thanks for the speedy answers.
Skulks say hi.
Perhaps there could be some ammunition upgrades?
Still feel like the flamer feels lost, I know it is anti energy. But fps players dont want 'rts' weapons that work on stats, they want something satisfying and causes things to go 'bang' when you hit them.
Just confuses me that weapon... Perhaps for 30 it should be more direct fire causing damage, as an alternative to the exo route.
I disagree. The Assault rifle is perfectly viable late gate game. The only time it's really useless is mid game when the Fades start coming out. When you get late and you have every class of alien flying around is when they're pretty useful. Not saying a team of pure rifles is going to win you a game, but a few guys covering a GL from Skulks or focus firing an Onos.
The Assault rifle really is middleground between the NS1 SMG and the HMG. I feel like when/if they reintroduce the HMG it's going to have to gain some tweaks. If the HMG is just an Assault rifle with more damage it's going to be pretty imba.
OP? An Onos versus lmg's or even shottys are OP. If they balance the HMG damage right the games should become more even than they already are on the charts that were shown the other day.

Well you didn't mention the other roles of the Flamer:
• insta Cyst kill
• prevents Whips from bombarding
• prevents Whips from whacking nades back
• if well aimed the DMG stacks and does a ###### load of DMG
• burns Lerk gas (not sure if Umbra also)
So it is a pure Support gun!
At OP:
There will also be a Railgun for the EXO and claw as melee weapon (if they didn't changed it)

Yes! You don't even need to aim at the cyst to kill it. Just aim at the infestation and any cyst that is in the vicinity of this infestation dies. Flamers are a nightmare for every alien com. If you pair them with a jetpack and play speed-vacuum through the map, you can seriously piss-off the alien team.
I just... just... want it to look like this:
<center><object width="450" height="356"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/D9DkciMTsLI"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/D9DkciMTsLI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="450" height="356"></embed></object></center>
FPS is all about how guns 'feel' to fire, CS being a great example.

Yea. The current flamer still kinda feels like fighting with an enlarged lightsaber(with a few joints on the saber itself, lol).
omg...still people complain with no idea how the game works.
Onos 75 Res
LMG = FREE
shotgun 20 res.
jetpack = 10 res
jetpack+shotgun=30 res, how much a lerk cost so what are you talking about?
Go play onos, you will feel the pain at 4 marines.
and no, getting 75 res takes A LONG TIME!
At my last games, i don't saw a single onos, nobody had so much res.
Game in 216 taks about 15-25 minutes.
If something is op, then its the marine team with jetpacks.
Marines can teleport through the whole map to any location, move faster then any lifeform except fade and lerk with cheap 10 res jetpack.
LMG is still very effective against skulks, gorges and most importantly the onos.
Fades and lerks are better killed with the SG.
I was going to state this, but you just did.
anyone can look in their game console and see that the game currently tries to load models for the exosuit and MINIGUN

I know, Yet people are still saying I cant wait for the HMG.
Like i said there is no plans for a HMG and there wont be one released. They are swapping it for Miniguns and Railguns on the EXO
Say that to the semi pro guy (a known on servers, pretty good overall) that I killed with Rifle AND no jet packs 1on1. He was pretty sad. Then again, that's likely to never happen again. Still.. Rilfe > Fade at that one moment, haha
A couple of marines with rifels can take a fade down, but best to have 3 or more when using LMG
Crazy talk that, i can easily solo a onos so long as i have the high ground, if you're letting an onos get you the maps rigged against you or you arent resourceful enough! that or just unlucky.
A single marine determined enough can take down a fade, so long as the fades stupid enough to not gtfo before he does. :P
wow... downvote
