People might do stupid things like use less powerful hardware and increase player count when performance increase. Therefor, tickrate display would be nice.

It is still up in the air whether or not UWE will be capable of getting performance even close to other FPS game servers (the underlying system performs worse and there is more going on). It is quite possible that server performance will <b>always</b> be an issue (albeit to a lesser extent than currently).
The current situation is scarily far from being able to run NS2 on normal server hardware, burying our heads in the sand and praying that it will all work out is not helpful. We may need to live with the fact that NS2 has <b>special</b> server requirements forever.

Tick rate will always be useful.... could have someone running a server on an old P4 somewhere!
Or, like other games, some servers might go up to 60 ticks eventually
Oh, don't give me that MenuMod-answer! I asked for the exact same thing a half year ago. We are near release. We as beta testers shouldn't hide problems by using something extern. This are minor ui features, not something you need to think and code over month. Someone should finally get this issue done. If you really have no time to code that, than get that mod official...
Also Mouse-wheel!
And the tick rate should have gone in the browser month ago (and is needed even after release). I don't want to know how many people who bought NS2 quit playing after a few minutes because of performance. But it wasn't really their performance that was bad. They just got onto the wrong server with low tick rate. If I had to answer this question, I would say at least 20% quit NS2 because of this. (And this are totally unnecessary losses!) You know, not everyone comes to the forum to complain. Most just stop playing and say: Ok I'll wait for release where we get better performance. Tick rate is needed!
I don't think tick rate belongs in any server browser, but the game should recognize when the server is causing problems and inform the player of this in-game.

I think you might want to try this out.
