Bullet Marks

<div class="IPBDescription">Half-Life Style</div>I think one thing that would add a lot of immersion to the game would be bullet marks when a Marine shoots a wall, much like in Half Life. This may or may not be feasible (depending on the Spark engine), but I have personally found that small change adds a lot to the feeling of being inside a real facility instead of a plastic container. Even having the mark fade over 30 seconds would still be a large improvement to the atmosphere.

    I've heard mention of decals being in the pipeline before, blood splatters included.

    its probably not being worked on right now as network choke is currently the biggest reason for performance issues. being able to turn it off client-side will probably not prevent this from increasing network traffic (i think)... imo it would be nice to have, but not before the performance is a lot better than it is now.

    I think there's already a tracer/bullet hit effect from enemy fire? Could just add a client side decal to that location, shouldn't stress the netcode at all, as this would be client side right?
